the traveling pansy |
Thanks to the genius that is Liv this page will document the travels of pansy caps throughout the world. So if your cap has been anywhere exciting... London, Paris, India, Tweebuffelsfontein... send us a pic and a little story about where and when and we'll put it up on the site. |
piri-piri pansy The piri-piri pansy is often spotted in areas with a portuguese history, so, you know... place like Nando's and Mozambique (I dunno how to do the twirly c thing okay...). This particular Pansy was spotted in Vilanculos in Mozambique... It's Elaine! |
les pansy The French Pansy or Les Pansy can be seen throughout france, this particular breed was sighted at the foot of the awful tower in Paris, it is seldom seen without a cigarette and/or shopping bags from Laffeyette. It's Gereth isn't he a noo!
|
sunset pansy The sunset pansy is known to hang around other flowers (who should be wearing their hats) where the lighting is good... after that they pretty much drink as much gin and tonic as possible. It's Liv again in't she perty. |
leopard pansy The Leopard Pansy, also known as the 'Whatthehellareyouthinkingpansy' can be spotted hanging around inches from a certain death. It's Liv,the genius behind this page. |
skyrise pansy Found clinging to the air-conditioning unit in it's hotel room in Buenos Aires, this pansy is actually frightened of heights (note the look of hysteria). Has also been spotted clinging tightly to other tall buildings around the world. It's me again. |
plumbers pansy Although closely related to the naked pansy and the stone pansy, this pansy tends to grow out of crevices... or rather tends to show it's crevices... tee hee. This pansy was sighted outside a castle in a little town called Traversa in Tuscany. You have probably seen more than one plumbers pansy... or rather more than one pansies plumbing... It's another Statue... I bet you worked that out by yourself... |
pagan pansy One of the oldest on earth, the pagan pansy walks for miles before settling it's roots around anncient druidic stone circles... i'm not joking, it was quite a hike. This one was spotted at one of the many stone circles on the Isle of Arran. Please note the extremely appropriate accessory... it's a really bad photo of Me |
naked pansy The naked pansy, also known as the 'size does count pansy'... okay I don't know where I'm going with this... but this one was seen in front of the (fakey) statue of David in Florence. Don't worry Niall, you're not the only one worrying about the boys michaelangelo dated... |
leaning pansy Through the years scientists have made many attempts to make this peculiar breed of pansy stand up straight, with little success as you can tell. This leaning pansy was spotted in front of the leaning tower of Pisa, which many horticulturists believe was originally called the leaning tower of Pansy, named for the lovely blossom in the foreground. The leaning pansy can also be found outside nightclubs after a very heavy night. mwa mwa mwa... thanks Chris. |
water pansy The water pansy is truly rare, but can be spotted floating around on boats, ships and ferries all around the world, this one was seen being buffeted by the wind on a ferry from Scotland to the Isle of Arran... you wouldn't be wrong if you think that this pansy looks alot like the highlands pansy... they are very close relatives... some might even say they are the same pansy... Thanks again Mommy. |
stone pansy The stone pansy is probably one of the oldest in the world, we spotted this one living it up in Mateya safari lodge in Madikwe. Other sub-species include the 'stone cold pansy' and the 'hard as stone pansy' it's a Statue... you dimwhit... |
pansita The "Pansita" (this may or may not be what they call pansies in Rio) is a rare breed of Pansy found in remote areas in South America, this particular one was spotted on route to the favelas in Rio, it has also been sighted wearing a g-string on the beaches and during carnivale. The Latin name of this beauty is Wikus Du Toit |
highlands pansy This pansy ( who happens to be the Pansy Presidents Parental Person... that took a lot of thought) found in very cold scenic regions of Scotland was spotted in front of the 'Burns Monument' in some little Scottish town with a quirky unpronouncable name... Laddie... Thanks Mom... or as others may know her, Eryll Oellermann. |
pommy pansy This pansy found struggling through various forms of crap (I'm not going to go into that) on the pavements of London, can be seen here in front of a gigantic phallic symbol of colonialism... oh well... it takes one to know one... its me! |
wild pansy Our very first traveling pansy turns out to be the lovely lady who's idea it was in the first place and shows evidence of the rare wild pansy found in the Kruger National Park. Wild pansies are favoured as a snack by large hairy animals (as seen in the background) when traveling in the Kruger Park one should always be aware that an elephant never forgets... ahem. A big special thank-you to the brains behind the traveling pansy and our first ever traveling pansy: Olivia Tesson... Mwa |
